Filming guide
Film your space in one take.
Any recent phone works. Watch the route once, then record one slow, continuous video per room. We handle everything after that.
- 2–3 minper space, one clip, no cuts
- Landscapenormal 1x lens, no zoom
- Half pacewalk and turn slowly
- Empty roomlights on, nobody walking through
The route
Two loops, one clip.
Walk the edge of the room facing in, then a smaller loop through the middle, and finish where you started. The cone is what your phone sees.
Step by step
Six things that matter.
Prepare the room
Turn all the lights on and set the blinds the way you want guests to see them, then leave them. Switch off ceiling fans and screens, and make sure nobody walks through while you film. Anything that moves turns into a blur.
Hold the phone sideways at chest height
Landscape, the normal 1x lens, no zooming or switching lenses. On iPhone, tap and hold on the screen to lock focus and exposure. Wipe the lens first.
Walk slowly along the walls, facing into the room
About half your normal walking pace, and turn slowly. Each moment of video should see most of what the previous moment saw. Keep furniture and edges in frame rather than a blank wall.
Do a second, smaller loop through the middle
Hold the phone a little lower, around waist height. Two heights give us the depth we need to rebuild the room accurately.
Finish where you started
One continuous clip of two to three minutes, no cuts. Ending where you began lets us close the loop cleanly.
Go easy on mirrors and glass
Film mirrors, glass walls and very shiny floors at an angle rather than straight on. Reflections and see-through surfaces are the hardest thing for 3D.
